Breakthrough in the hair growth cycle
Written By: WETHRIVV
When it comes to hair rejuvenating therapies, scientists have been at a loss to explain why seemingly extinct hairs are coming back to life. This is because new and effective hair loss therapies are putting ‘peach fuzz’ into the seemingly bald regions of the scalp. Many of the users of REVIVV are reporting this seeming impossibility.
According to the old theory, your hair had just three months to regrow after it finished its cycle, or else it was ‘extinct’, but we now know this is not true. As there are many reports of a ‘revival’ of these apparently extinct follicles, scientists had to reassess what they knew about hair. What they discovered has given hope to many who thought it was too late.
Up until recently, scientists described the hair cycle as being made up of just four phases of growth. The most important phase is anagen (phase 1). This is what we want! The anagen phase is when the follicle is actively growing. The longer your hair stays in anagen, the darker and thicker it becomes. A healthy hair follicle will stay in the anagen phase for 3 or more years, giving you the opportunity to grow it out, to have long and illustrious hair.
In normal hair, the anagen phase will continue until it is time to stop growing, shed and make a new hair. It is common for the new hair to start growing even before the old hair is lost. This is ideal, because your lost hairs have already been replaced!
The anagen phase is your time of plenty. If you have a good head of hair, it means all your hairs are enjoying a full length anagen phase. But in hair loss disorders, the anagen phase is cut short. This can cause hairs to lose color and become thinner over time.
The process of transforming out of the anagen phase is called the catagen phase (phase 2), which lasts only 10 days. It is such a short phase that it is not even worth remembering the name. But the phase that you should be weary of is the telogen phase (phase 3). This is when the hair is not growing, just sitting there doing nothing.
A few telogen hairs is part of the normal hair, but in hair disorders you will have too many. When this phase dominates it becomes a problem. The anagen phase is cut short and many of your hairs transform (catagen) into the telogen phase, then you have a disproportionate number of hairs that are not growing.
Even with so many telogen hairs you don’t realize there is a problem. This is because the hairs are sitting there, lifeless. You don’t start to panic yet, as your hair might seem lifeless, dull, flat, but you still have hair! But the next phase is when you start to realize there is a problem.
After the telogen phase is the exogen phase (phase 4), which is when the hair follicle sheds the hair. You don’t start to worry until you see the hairs falling into the sink. Now it is time to acknowledge that there is a problem.
In normal hair, the exogen phase of shedding hair is a time of new growth, as the hair follicle starts to rebuild itself and create new hair. In an ideal situation, it may have gone ahead and done this before shedding the last hair.
Unfortunately, you may be one of the unlucky few who missed out on having that new hair come out after exogen. Or you might notice that even when new hairs come through, they are dull and thin. This is not a nice experience.
After some time, even those dull and lifeless hairs stop coming back. They continue to get smaller until they seemingly vanish. According to the old theory, once they have seemingly vanished, they have no chance of coming back.
But here is where scientists needed an update.
Astonishingly, it is now known that there is a fifth phase in the hair growth cycle. But the catch is, only those who have hair loss will manifest this rare phase.
The fifth phase is called the Kenogen phase. The good news is that if your hair follicle is in the Kenogen phase, it is not extinct, it is just having an exalted rest.
What this means is that many people who have bald regions on their scalp, or spaces between their hairs, have some hope of filling in those gaps. They just need to use the right treatment. A good treatment that will help to lengthen the anagen phase.
Kickstarting Kenogen hairs back to life requires a little persuasion in the form of peptides that signal for regrowth. Thereafter, the ingredients need to support the hair follicles metabolism of energy. The best way to achieve this is to provide nutrients and support the hair follicle’s building of energy stores. This is achieved with special natural ingredients.
It is important to use a therapy to clear all the obstacles to hair growth. While there are several drugs that can help to increase the anagen phase, there are very few that can give those Kenogen hairs the kiss of life.
Users of REVIVV are surprised to see a phenomenon called ‘peach fuzz’, which is when the bald areas of their scalp are suddenly populated with tiny little white or blond hairs. This is what the Kenogen hairs look like when they first come back to life. In such a case, the process of miniaturization is now in reverse.
After some time, while keeping the new baby hairs in the anagen phase for as long as possible, they will gradually grow thicker and regain their color. The trick is to keep them in anagen for as long as possible.
And voila, your bald spots are starting to fill in, your thinning hair is getting thicker, and your scalp is starting to be healthy again
