Simone De La Rue’s Finding ‘Me Time’ Tips for the Holidays.

1. Rise and shine:
It’s hard to find time for yourself, especially during the holiday season when you want to be present with your family. Try setting your alarm and getting up 30 minutes before the rest of the household. It is the perfect quiet time for meditation, journaling or even a quick work out.
2. Schedule in your workout.
Make it a non negotiable for yourself. If you stick to the commitment, then your family will honor that. Perhaps it is the first thing you do when you wake up, or in the afternoon when everyone else is relaxing. Humans respond best when we have a schedule and a routine.
3. Take a walk:
Even if you have to run an errand, try walking there rather than driving. Breath in the fresh air, disconnect from your device and just be present. Think of it as time out for your mind and exercise for your body. Walking meditation! It’s a win win!
4. Enjoy a bath:
Make bath time your quiet time. Light a candle, play some soothing tunes and soak those sore muscles. Even if it is just for 20 minutes, slowing down your heart rate and allowing yourself some relax time can feel as good as a vacation.
