Tamae Takahashi: Everyday Beauty
Meet Tamae Takahashi
Tamae is an Eczema Coach and helps people struggling with eczema find holistic ways to improve their skin.
As a child, Tamae had eczema in typical places like inside the elbows, wrists, neck, face, back, stomach, and behind the knees. She used prescribed steroid creams for over 10 years with no improvements. Her eczema got worse and her skin became addicted to the steroid creams. She experienced many side effects and the only way out was to go through Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW) as a teenager which she says was the hardest experience of her life to this day. She coped with the withdrawal by changing her diet with the help from her mom. As a result, she not only overcame eczema but also learned the importance of listening to her body and supporting it from the inside out through nutrition. Because when you do so, you support the natural healing abilities of your body.
As a mom, she experienced another TSW after using a cream that had a steroid as a hidden ingredient. She could have stayed angry about the incident but instead she used this experience as an opportunity to learn about cosmetics and personal care products and their effects on health and decided to study nutrition therapy to help others find their health.
Her mission in life is to empower people to take charge of their health and share that they are not stuck with eczema for the rest of their lives.
Through working with her clients, she makes the healing process less overwhelming and guides them through each step of the way with weekly 1:1 coaching sessions.
In her free time, she loves baking and cooking for her family as well as exercising, meditating and spending time in nature with her family.
